The lake itself is a spring-fed ancient five and a half acre lake which dates back to the seventeenth century (pre Napoleonic) and can be found on a map of that time – it may date back further but we are yet to discover any printed documents for this.
It is therefore a well-established lake and for that reason we have tried our best not to change or disturb it. The depth range is from two feet to twelve feet.
All the banks surrounding the lake are low and are therefore easily accessible for both catching and returning the fish.
